Somewhere, everyday in the USA, thousands of people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.
“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation.
Most times you won’t see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media’s story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.
This is just one of those stories;
A pair of robbers, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, approached a 71-year-old man in Hampton, Va. and demanded cash.
The elderly man responded by drawing a gun and firing at one of the robbers, striking and killing him, and causing his accomplice to flee. Police apprehended the surviving robber a short time later.
Following the incident, Hampton Police Public Information Officer Ashley Jenrette told a local news outlet, “The victim did fear for his safety. He was cooperative. He called 911, he remained on scene so officers could speak with him…he will not be charged.”
