On Fox & Friends this morning, Donald Trump responded to Hillary Clinton saying that he wants to mandate that every school has guns in classrooms.
Clinton said at an event last night that Trump is trying to stoke more fear, and in combining that with more guns, “If you want to imagine what Trump’s America would look like, picture more kids at risk of violence and bigotry.”
This morning, Trump said, “I don’t want to have guns in classrooms, although in some cases teachers should have guns in classrooms today.”
And if that sounds slightly contradictory to you, it’s probably because, well, it is.
As he talked about combating “the things going on in our schools,” Trump again said, “I’m not advocating guns in classrooms” but also “trained teachers should be able to have guns in classrooms.”
